Chesed is a Hebrew word commonly translated as “loving-kindness.” The idea of doing acts of kindness to others is central to Jewish ethics and Jewish theology. In fact, many Jewish thinkers view chesed as the primary virtue.
Our community is fortunate to have had a dedicated group of volunteers who made up our Chesed Committee and worked to support those faced with many of life’s difficult times, whether it is a financial or personal crisis, illness and/or the death of a loved one. We also took the time to visit the sick.
We are now looking for volunteers to re-establish the committee and to continue with this important work of mitzvah.
